Dreamworks turns ‘Need for Speed’ into a movie

Need for Speed is going to be a movie, and it’s going to arrive in theatres on February 7th 2014. Electronic Arts have given Paramount-owned Dreamworks the greenlight for creating a cinema out of the $ 4 billion video game franchise.

The movie will be based on the entire NFS franchise and not one particular series. Brothers George Gatin and Real Steel screenwriter John Gatin have developed the original story with George writing the screenplay. Scott Waugh, the one responsible for Special Ops flick Act of Valor will direct the movie.

You think you might get “a fast-paced, high-octane film rooted in the tradition of the great car culture films of the 70s while being extremely faithful to the spirit of the video game franchise”
